2D Motion Answer Key

Video Explanations

Special Exam Policy (This unit only!)

In order to have a full grasp of 2D Motion material, you need to have a solid understanding of 1D Motion material. Since you must have a mastery of 1D Motion material in order to perform well in this unit, the unit exam for 2D Motion can replace your old 1D Motion exam scores provided you earn this privilege (see below). This is the only unit where an exam score can take the place of another.

In order to earn this privilege, you must be a contributing member of your group (on-task, work completed, helpful of others) AND you must be fully engaged in class. Fully engaged in class means no headphones should be worn during class discussions, no cell phones should be used for any reason during class, and iPads are used appropriately (not for accessing social media and games).

Main goal:

Understand what vectors are, how to use them and why they are useful in physics problems. (5.1-5.4)

Class Agenda:

  1. Class Journal Intro
  2. Change Challenge - Take an honest look at a bad habit that you have. Break it! (TED Talk)
  3. Get to know your group & discuss norms (Background & Examples)
  4. Vector Review - (read lessons 1 a-f) (Practice Set) (Key) (Video Explanations)

Homework:

  1. Complete vector review (see agenda item 4 above)

Main goal:

Understand how to solve for distance, velocity and time given an object's position.

Remember that in order to earn the benefit of having the 2D motion exam replace the 1D motion exam you must be a contributing member of your group and engaged in class (no headphones during discussion, no cell phones, no social media use)

Class Agenda:

  1. Vector Review - (read lessons 1 a-f) (Practice Set) (Key) (Video Explanations)
